Verb is that word or group of words in the sentence that specifies the action
taken or the state of the subject.

Verb वह शब्द या शब्दों का समूह है जो किसी व्यक्ति या वस्तु के सम्बन्ध में कुछ बताये या उनके द्वारा किये गये किसी कार्य को प्रकट करते हैं.
Verb की भूमिका किसी भी sentence में एकदम अहम होती है.
यहाँ तक कि verb के बिना कोई sentence बनता ही नहीं, बाकि के parts of speech के अंतर्गत वर्गित शब्द-समूहों का sentence में होना आवश्यक नहीं है.
